According to the white paper titled "China's National Defence in 2010" released by the Information Office of the State Council of China, the 2nd artillery established a military training system peculiar to strategic missile unit and fully equipped itself with conditions for exercises in base and simulation and network drills. It intensified the drills to cope with complex electronic circumstances.

It also successfully researched and established a system for testing missile automation, a system for control over theatre tactical commanding, etc. and set a safety record in handling nuclear weapons.
