Attending it were officials of the Copyright Secretariat of the DPRK and in the fields of education, literature and arts, media and IT industry and members of the World Intellectual Property Organization and Chinese and Malaysian delegates on a visit to the DPRK.

Speakers referred to the importance of the work for copyrights, saying that the seminar would offer an opportunity to have a deep understanding of the global development of copyright system and advanced experience in this field.

They stressed that it would mark a significant occasion in further developing the international exchange and cooperation in the field of copyrights.

Then there were speeches on such subjects as "Development of Copyrights in the DPRK", "Work for Protecting Copyright and Related Rights in the DPRK", "The Importance of Respect for Copyright and Related Rights and Social Understanding of Them" and "The Positive Impact of Copyright and Related Rights on Social Economic and Cultural Development".

They referred to the issue of further developing the copyrights as required by the era of knowledge-based economy in the 21st century and underscored the need to improve and perfect the copyright protection system to enrich the intellectual wealth of the country.
