The 8th Corps of the puppet army staged big military exercises on April 4 and 5 in the Ryongdong area covering from Kosong to Samchok of Kangwon Province of south Korea with all the armed forces under the corps involved.

The puppet air force kicked off military exercises on April 4 which will last till April 8 under the pretext of ensuring the unity of action with the U.S. air force in combat preparation and flight operations.

Explicitly speaking, the military exercises are crime against humanity. South Korea only pursues war and confrontation in disregard of peace and beautiful manners and customs of the Korean people handed down through generations.

The Koreans have the laudable custom of visiting graves of their ancestors with families, relatives and neighbors to arrange them in proper shape and call back on the deceased on April 5 in the thawing season.

It is peculiar to this day for all to be in silent reverence, something different from the Lunar New Year's Day and the January 15th of the lunar calendar, Korea's traditional holidays.

But the south Korean military group conducted frantic war exercises in the sky and on the land, throwing people into extreme horror and uneasiness.

We would like to ask if this reflects "the sentiment of the people."

The military group, referring to national holidays, called for "taking the sentiment of the people into consideration" at the hard-won talks for the north-south dialogue this year as it did last year and finally brought the talks to rupture.

The reality proves that "the sentiment of the people" touted by the puppet group is only a makeshift used by it whenever it deemed necessary to scuttle the dialogue.

It is the sinister intention of the puppet clique to hush up the public opinion in demand of the switchover in its vicious policy for confrontation with the DPRK while giving impression that it is interested in the dialogue.

The criminal act of the group which incites confrontation between the north and the south of Korea and fans up war atmosphere with the deceptive rhetoric about the "sentiment of the people" is intolerable.
