Kim Il Sung's Birth Anniversary Commemorated in China

Pyongyang, April 8 (KCNA) -- A remembrance meeting of families of those who are related to the anti-Japanese revolutionary struggle took place at the DPRK embassy in Beijing on April 6 to commemorate the birth anniversary of President Kim Il Sung. Present there were the DPRK ambassador to China and staff members of the embassy. The participants laid floral baskets before the portraits of the President and General Secretary Kim Jong Il before enjoying the Korean film "The Tower of the Juche Idea". Speeches were made by Yu Guang, son of anti-Japanese revolutionary fighter Li Zade; Zhang Jinlu, daughter of anti-Japanese revolutionary martyr Zhang Weihua; Feng Yila, daughter of Feng Zhongyun who is related to the anti-Japanese revolutionary struggle; Zhang Zhuoya, daughter of Zhang Shou-jian, and others. They said that they could not repress their yearning for the President and reverence for him whenever greeting the Day of the Sun, his birthday. With deep impression they called back on the warm loving care and benevolence shown by the President for the younger generations of those who fought together with him during the past anti-Japanese revolutionary struggle. They referred to the President's exploits for the development of the DPRK-China friendship. The President is not only the great leader of the Korean people but also the greatest man recognized by the world, they said. They noted that Kim Jong Il, true to the intention of the President, has invariably shown loving care for them and put the Sino-DPRK friendship provided by the revolutionaries of the elder generation of the two countries on a higher stage. Expressing belief that the Korean people would win bigger victory in building a thriving nation, they said that they would value the Sino-DPRK friendship forged by the forerunners and carry it forward for all ages. |
