KCNA Blasts Japan's Decision to Extend Sanctions against DPRK
|

Pyongyang, April 8 (KCNA) -- The Japanese government at a Cabinet meeting on April 5 decided to extend sanctions against the DPRK for one more year. Japan has unilaterally applied sanctions against the DPRK. It is the 7th time that it took the extension measure since it began applying sanctions against the DPRK in July 2006. Explicitly speaking, this is ridiculous, shameless and wicked action which can be done only by those steeped in the bitterness toward the DPRK to the marrow of their bones. The Japanese government faulted the peaceful nuclear activities of the DPRK when taking the decision. It is preposterous for Japan to take issue with the peaceful nuclear activities of the DPRK now that its failed security measures at a nuclear power plant have touched off growing international concern. The successive explosions at the Fukushima Nuclear Power Plant and the leakage of massive amounts of radioactive materials plunged humankind into a horrible nuclear disaster. Japan can never evade responsibility for it. The Japanese government even allowed the flow of huge amounts of contaminated water into the sea without prior notice, endangering the life and security of the people in the surrounding areas. This also has sparked off protest and denunciation. It is clear to everybody that it is Japan which should be subject to sanctions. This being a hard fact, Japan decided to extend sanctions against the DPRK, far from bringing its family trouble under control and making an apology to the international community. This proves to what extent it has gone in its policy to isolate and stifle the DPRK. The recent decision only discloses its moral vulgarity. The Japanese government had better bring the living of the people in the tsunami-stricken people to normal and take measures to prevent damage by radioactivity, instead of whiling time away at a time of crisis. |
