Garib Newaz, president of the Bangladesh People's League, said that the President founded the immortal Juche idea and brightly indicated the road to be followed by the Korean people and the progressives of the world, turning the DPRK into a dignified socialist power.

The election of Kim Jong Il as chairman of the National Defence Commission provided a sure guarantee for successfully carrying forward the idea and feats of the President and accomplishing the revolutionary cause of Juche, he noted.

Christer Lundgren, chairman of the Sweden-Korea Friendship Association, said that under the Songun politics of Kim Jong Il the KPA has defended socialism from the imperialists' aggression and successfully performed its role as the main force in building a thriving nation. He spoke highly of the invincible might of the KPA.

Messages to Kim Jong Il were adopted at the meetings in Switzerland and Sweden.

A meeting, photo exhibition and film show were also held in Cuba and film shows in Thailand between April 1 and 4 on the occasion of the birth anniversary of the President.
