Russia's State Duma Accuses Estonia of Its Step to Distort History

Moscow, April 8 (KCNA) -- The State Duma of Russia accused the Estonian authorities of their step to distort history. The Estonian Ministry of Defence recently replaced letters reading "Monument to Solider Liberators" with letters "Monument to Soviet Soldiers who Occupied Tallinn on September 22, 1944". The monument stands at the cemetery of Soviet soldiers in Tallinn. In this regard Oleg Morozov, first deputy speaker of the State Duma of Russia, denounced it as a provocation of the Estonian authorities and another attempt to distort history. This is desecration and vandalism against the Russians, said Leonid Slutski, first vice-chairman of the International Affairs Committee of the State Duma. Another deputy to the State Duma also denounced it as a mean attempt. |
