A declaration, read out at its inaugural ceremony, charged that the present conservative ruling forces have committed the heinous crimes by destabilizing the people's livelihood for the past three years.

It noted that workers have been dismissed or reduced to part-timers while farmers have been undergoing the worst sufferings due to all sorts of misrule and the conclusion of Free Trade Agreement with the U.S.

Moreover, the authorities are escalating the war crisis on the Korean Peninsula by totally denying the June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration and insisting on the policy of confrontation with fellow countrymen, it said.

The progressive forces, including organizations of workers, farmers, the poor, youth and students, women, intellectuals and artistes and progressive political parties, will wage a struggle against the conservative "government", the struggle against the U.S. and war and for democracy and independent reunification, the declaration said.
