Minju Joson Slams Japanese Reactionaries' Claim to Tok Islets

Pyongyang, April 13 (KCNA) -- It was recently reported that the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology of Japan made public the results of the screening and passing of new textbooks. According to it, the ministry decided to describe Tok Islets as "part of Japan's territory" in 12 kinds of sociology textbooks for middle schools of Japan. Meanwhile, Japanese Foreign Minister Matsumoto blustered that the government has a consistent stand that Tok Islets are "part of Japan's territory". He went the lengths of talking nonsense that Japan would consider a missile attack on Tok Islets from outside as one on its own territory, describing them as part of its territory. Minju Joson Wednesday observes in a bylined commentary in this regard: The Japanese reactionaries' bid to grab Tok Islets is an unpardonable grave provocation as it is a wanton violation of the sovereignty of Korea. Tok Islets are part of the inviolable territory of Korea as they do not allow anyone to eye or invade, the commentary says, and goes on: Japan's moves to seize Tok Islets were prompted not by any ignorance of international law or geographical conception or misunderstanding of historical facts but they proceeded from its wild ambition for grabbing them. The Japanese reactionaries seek to make the islets a dispute, insisting that they are part of Japan's "territory," and occupy them in a bid to use them as a springboard from which to realize their scenario for reinvading Korea and the rest of Asia and, at the same time, establish a monopoly over the economic concessions including rich marine and seabed resources around the islets. By teaching the Japanese youngsters and other people distorted history they seek to implant the militarist idea into their minds and use them as a shock brigade for grabbing Tok Islets and reinvading Asia. What matters is that all these actions are being openly and systematically staged under the direct wire-pulling of the Japanese government. Japan is busy seeking territorial aggrandizement instead of minding its own business though it is now under an emergency situation. The Japanese authorities would be well advised to bear in mind that this would only bring to light their inveterate aggressive nature and invite rebuff and criticism from the international community. |
