Production is going well at the already built light industry factories in the zone.

More factories are now under construction in some areas of the zone.

Ri Chol Su, director of the Rason Industrial Company, told KCNA that the zone has favorable conditions for becoming a production and trade hub.

He said the company plans to build high-tech light industry factories.

It has updated garment, foodstuff, daily necessities, footwear, packing and other factories and increased their production capacity, he said, adding:

Most of their products are exported to other countries to enjoy popularity.

It has launched joint ventures with Chinese businesses.

Businesses of other countries are interested in investing in the company.

The company will play a big role in turning the zone into a comprehensive production and trade base.
