The message expressed thanks to him for remitting 165,200,000 yen (in Japanese currency) of educational aid fund and stipends to the Chongryon officials and Korean residents in Japan to develop the democratic national education of Chongryon.

The aid fund and stipends sent so far by President Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il since April 8, 1957 total to 46,759,450,390 yen on 157 installments, the message noted, saying:

You are the great teacher and tender-hearted father of Chongryon and Koreans in Japan as you have shown warm care for the happiness of compatriots and the future of their descendants and wisely led them by paving a broad avenue for the fresh heyday of the movement of Koreans in Japan.

The message expressed the resolution to cherish the noble intention of Kim Jong Il who wisely led the work for national education, after fixing last year as a year for strengthening this work, and make decisive progress in the drive to protect and develop the national education this year marking the 65th anniversary of the start of the secondary education and the 55th birthday of Joson University.

The Chongryon officials and Koreans in Japan will passionately love and resolutely defend the socialist homeland of Juche and creditably contribute to the nationwide cause of prosperity and reunification of the country, it said.
