Pyongyang Seethed in Festive Mood

Pyongyang, April 14 (KCNA) -- Pyongyang, the capital of the DPRK, is seethed in a festive mood to commemorate President Kim Il Sung's birth anniversary, April 15. Many people, including servicemen and schoolchildren, have visited Mangyongdae, his birthplace, with deep reverence for the President, who augmented the dignity of the nation. An endless stream of people with floral baskets and bunches are climbing Mansu Hill where his statue is standing. Streets are decked with posters, national flags, large electronic displays and pictures showing great feats performed by Kim Il Sung for the independence of humankind. Meanwhile, the 13th Kimilsungia Festival was opened at the Kimilsungia-Kimjongilia Exhibition and the 27th April Spring Friendship Art Festival is going on at the Pyongyang Grand Theatre, Moranbong Theatre and other theatres in Pyongyang. Pleasure parks, fun fairs and public catering establishments are crowded with people. |
