DPRK's Significant Days Observed Abroad

Pyongyang, April 15 (KCNA) -- Events were held in different countries between April 1 and 4 on the occasions of the birth anniversary of President Kim Il Sung, the 18th anniversary of General Secretary Kim Jong Il's election as chairman of the DPRK National Defence Commission and the 79th anniversary of the founding of the Korean People's Army. They included a lecture and film show in Nepal, lecture, photo exhibition and film show in Mongolia, film show in the Czech Republic and an opening ceremony of a Korean book, photo and handicraft exhibition in Brazil. On display in the venues of the events were works of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il, photos showing their revolutionary exploits and books and photos introducing the building of a thriving nation in the DPRK and its handicrafts. Participants in the film shows watched Korean films "Country Shedding Its Rays Thanks to the Army of Mt. Paektu" and "Pyongyang at Night". The chairman of the Nepal Journalist Association for the Study of the Juche Idea and Songun Politics praised Kim Il Sung as the father of socialist Korea, distinguished thinker and theoretician and outstanding leader. The executive chairperson of the Mongolian Mt. Paektu Association for Independent Development said that the DPRK remained undeterred even when socialism was frustrated in the Eastern European countries in the closing years of the last century as it successfully built Korean-style socialism based on the Juche idea. The mayor of Campinas City, Sao Paulo State, Brazil referred to the fact that all popular policies including free medical care and free education are enforced in the DPRK and the Korean people have achieved astonishing successes in various fields. A message of greetings to Kim Jong Il was adopted at an event held in Nepal. |
