April Holiday Significantly Commemorated across Country

Pyongyang, April 15 (KCNA) -- The birth anniversary of President Kim Il Sung was commemorated with splendor in all parts of the country. Officials of organs at various levels, working people, school youth and children Friday visited the Kumsusan Memorial Palace to pay homage to the President in humble reverence. Floral baskets, bouquets and flowers were laid before the statues of the President in different parts of the country. People from all walks of life, school youth and children went round the historic relics preserved at the birthplace of the President in Mangyongdae where he was born and spent his childhood, nurturing the noble intention of revolution. The venue of the 13th Kimilsungia Festival in Pyongyang and Kimilsungia shows in provinces drew an endless stream of visitors. Art performances were given in different places on the occasion of the Day of the Sun. Provincial artistes put on the stages female quartet "Song of Mangyondae", female solo "His Eternal Smile", female solos and choruses "We Will Always Live with the Leader" and "Our Leader Will Always Be with Us" and other numbers. A remembrance meeting for commemorating the Day of the Sun titled "Land of South Phyongan Province Sings of the Leader" was held in Phyongsong, a performance of working people and students commemorating the Day of the Sun "Our Leader" in Chongjin, a music and dance performance was given by students and women's union members in Wonsan and chorus "Song of Women's Union Members to the Day of the Sun" in Kanggye. Conspicuous was mass gymnastic display "Land of Ryanggang Province Blooming under Care of the General" presented by 20,000 school youth and children and women's union members in Hyesan. Waltz of young people was given and pleasant sports and amusement games took place in different parts of the country. Okryu, Chongryu, Sinhung and Kyongam restaurants and other public catering networks served holiday dishes. Recreation grounds were crowded with holiday-makers. |
