Attending it were Chief Vice-Chairman Ho Jong Man and vice-chairmen of the Central Standing Committee of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon), deputies to the Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK and officials of Chongryon and Koreans in Japan.

Ho in his report at the meeting said that thanks to the wise leadership of the President, who saved the movement of Koreans in Japan from crisis and performed great feats for the strengthening and development of Chongryon, the Koreans in Japan could fully enjoy the honor and pride of being overseas citizens of the DPRK in Japan where racial maltreatment and discrimination are rampant.

Like the President who performed great feats for the strengthening and development of the movement of Koreans in Japan, General Secretary Kim Jong Il has shown warm care for Chongryon and Koreans in Japan, the reporter said, adding:

He sent the relief fund of 500,000 U.S. dollars to the Korean residents in Japan who suffered great damage from the recent killer quake and ensuing tsunami. This gave strength and courage to the organizations of Chongryon and Koreans in Japan so that they could turn out in the drive to heal the damage and stabilize the living of the sufferers at an early date.

The reporter called on all the Chongryon officials and compatriots to more vigorously conduct the patriotic movement with firm confidence in victory of the cause of Juche started by Kim Il Sung and being carried forward by Kim Jong Il.

A letter of the Chongryon Central Standing Committee to Kim Jong Il was adopted at the meeting.
