The statement referred to the fact that Posada Carriles who took part in several terror cases including the mid-flight explosion of a Cuban airliner was acquitted on immigration fraud charged by a Texas court in a trial, branding the trial as a farce.

The U.S. is legally obliged to extradite the terrorist to Venezuela, the statement pointed out, accusing the U.S. of declaring the acquittal of the terrorist and currently forcing five Cuban antiterrorists to serve unjust sentences in U.S. prisons.
