Officials of the Osaka Prefectural Headquarters of Chongryon went to the quake-hit areas to convey the aid materials of more than 30,000 pieces of about 150 kinds provided by compatriots.

The headquarters is also conducting a fund-raising campaign to relieve quake-hit compatriots.

Chongryon organizations in Kanagawa, Kawasaki, Yokohama and other areas offered on several installments aid materials and vehicles needed for rehabilitation to the compatriots in Miyagi Prefecture.

Involved in the drive to provide aid materials were officials of the Togatsu Branch of Chongryon, the commercial association and the youth league and other compatriots in Chiba Prefecture and representatives of the Saitama Prefectural Headquarters of Chongryon and the youth commercial association, the youth league and different branches of Chongryon in the prefecture.

Chongryon's rescue teams active in different areas went to the quake-hit areas with relief materials to encourage the compatriots.

Officials of the Fukushima prefectural headquarters under the Chongryon central emergency measure committee have concentrated all efforts on rescue operation on the spot.

Just after the quake occurred they have worked hard to confirm whereabouts of compatriots and relieve the compatriots and Japanese who took refuge in Fukushima Korean Primary and Middle School.

Officials of the Miyagi Prefectural Headquarters of Chongryon gave out the relief materials, provided by Chongryon organizations in different parts, to compatriots in the quake-hit areas. Some of the materials were also sent to places of refuge including Japanese school and indoor stadium.
