The organizations voiced strong opposition to the promise made by kinsmen of Rhee to make an "apology" to the victims of the uprising and their bereaved families and visit the April 19 democratic cemetery.

The organizations said: For more than five decades they have kept mum but they talked about "apology" all of a sudden. This is aimed to erect a statue of Rhee at Kwanghwamun.

They warned that they would hold in check their entry into the cemetery, should they come to its area.
