Present there were members of the C.C., the GFTUK and trade union officials in Pyongyang and local areas.

The meeting discussed the tasks facing the trade union organizations to carry through the important tasks laid down in "On Developing the 'Lathe No. 26' Model Machine Movement onto a New Higher Stage in Keeping with the Requirement of the Great Drive for Building a Thriving Nation", a work published by General Scretary Kim Jong Il on March 30, Juche 100 (2011).

Hyon Sang Ju, chairman of the C.C., the GFTUK, made a report at the meeting which was followed by speeches.

The reporter and speakers stressed that the work is an important guideline as it indicates the way for putting the national economy as a whole on a modern and CNC basis by developing in depth the "lathe No. 26" model machine movement onto a new higher stage.

They underlined the need for the trade union organizations at all levels to conduct this movement in close combination with various mass movements and thus contribute to improving the standard of people's living and building an economic power.
