Birth Anniversary of Kim Il Sung Commemorated Abroad

Pyongyang, April 23 (KCNA) -- Commemorations were held in different countries between April 10 and 13 on the occasion of the birth anniversary of President Kim Il Sung. They included a joint seminar in Russia and meetings, photo exhibitions, film shows and joint performance in Mexico, Mongolia, India and Belarus. Displayed in the venues of the events were works of the President and General Secretary Kim Jong Il, photos on their exploits and books and photos on the vitality of the Songun politics. Films shown included Korean films "The Tower of the Juche Idea" and "Firework for a Thriving Nation". Mikhail Panchenko, general secretary of the International Alliance of Societies for the Study of the Juche Idea and Songun Policy in East European and Central Asian Regions, made a report at the joint seminar to be followed by speeches. The reporter and speakers praised the President for his immortal feats performed for the country, the revolution, the times and history. Jesus Antonio Carlos Hernandez, general secretary of the C.C., the People's Socialist Party of Mexico, said in his speech that the Korean people and the world progressives would commemorate the centenary of birth of the President as the greatest holiday of Kim Il Sung's nation and the great auspicious event in the human history. D. Bilegt, general secretary of the Federation of Peace and Friendship Organizations of Mongolia, said that the President founded the Juche idea and wisely led the Korean revolution and the struggle for global independence. Anita Chopra, president of the Indian Working Women Society for Study of the Juche Philosophy, noted that the revolutionary cause of Juche pioneered by the President has been steadfastly carried forward by Kim Jong Il. The repertoire of the joint performance included Korean and Mongolian songs. Messages to Kim Jong Il were adopted at the events in Russia, India and Belarus. |
