Special Zone for Peace and Cooperation in West Sea Called for in S. Korea

| Pyongyang, April 23 (KCNA) -- At least 20 civic organizations in the area of Inchon, south Korea including the Inchon Solidarity for Peace and People's Involvement and the Inchon Citizens Federation for Economic Justice and the "Consultative Council of Non-governmental Organizations for Cooperation with the North" held a joint press conference at the Inchon City Office on April 20 at which they called for peace in the West Sea of Korea. The organizations said that the vital rights of the Inchon citizens are seriously threatened by the ceaseless confrontation between the south and the north. They urged the authorities to stop military exercises in the waters of the West Sea which may spark military clashes and set up as early as possible a special zone for peace and cooperation in the West Sea as clarified by the October 4 declaration. |
