Actions for Guarantee of Students' Rights Called for in S. Korea

Pyongyang, April 23 (KCNA) -- Members of civic and public organizations and school youth and children of south Korea called a news conference in Seoul on April 19 calling upon the people of various circles to turn out in the actions for the guarantee of students' rights.

Speakers at the news conference said that violations of freedom and rights of students were going on at schools.

They held that in order to put an end to this reality there should be an institutional mechanism protecting the rights of the students.

They called on the students and their parents and civic and public organizations to actively turn out in the actions to institute a law for the guarantee of human rights.

Then the participants staged a demonstration.
