Tourism Is Passport for Peace: S. Korean Tourism Official
Pyongyang, April 23 (KCNA) -- Tourism is like a passport for peace. Pak Pyong Jik, chief of the South-North Tourism Center of the Tourism Company of south Korea, said this at round-table talks in Seoul on April 21. The tour of Mt. Kumgang was suspended due to the south Korean authorities' acts of escalating confrontation.

Expressing hope that tour would serve as an occasion of turning effect in mending the south-north relations, he said that south Korea is, in fact, experiencing difficulties in attracting foreign tourists.

The Korean nation should find the way for co-existence by developing a tour course involving areas in the south and the north, he said.
