A ceremony of laying wreaths before the mausoleum of Lenin at Red Square was held in Moscow.

Present there were representatives of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, trade union organizations, veterans' organizations, Pioneer organizations and other political parties and organizations and thousands of citizens from all walks of life.

Gennadi Zyuganov, leader of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, said at the ceremony that Lenin's exploits for mankind are always immortal.

At the end of the ceremony the participants marched through Red Square, holding Lenin's portraits and red flags and chanting such slogans as "Lenin is alive."

On the same day, ceremonies of laying wreaths and flowers before the memorials to Lenin, seminars and other various events took place in many cities and regions of Russia including Sankt-Peterburg and Kaluga Region. And documentary films on Lenin's revolutionary life were screened at cinemas.
