S. Korean Authorities Accused of Blocking North-South Working Contact

| Pyongyang, April 28 (KCNA) -- The Unification Committee of the south Korean Confederation of Trade Unions has staged a demonstration in Seoul since April 25 denouncing the authorities for blocking the exchange between the workers in the north and the south of Korea. The chairman of the committee, after participating in the first day demonstration, accused the Ministry of Unification of obstructing the south-north working contact slated to take place in Kaesong on April 28 for the co-sponsorship of the event on the May Day. He said that the ministry clarified its stand to disallow the event even before accepting the application for contact and took the same attitude even after accepting it. Recalling that the ministry obstructed the above-said organization's recent exchange of fax messages with the north, he blasted the present regime for its "policy toward the north." He demanded the authorities replace the minister of Unification and drop their policy of confrontation with the DPRK. |
