Correct Understanding of Tyrannical Action Urged in S. Korea

| Pyongyang, April 29 (KCNA) -- The Nationalist Forum for 21st Century, the Society of the April Revolution and other organizations of south Korea, at a seminar in Seoul on April 26, called for having a correct understanding of the "May 16 military coup." At the seminar speakers branded the coup in south Korea 50 years ago as a tyrannical action against democracy. They declared that Park Chung-Hee and coup forces brought to naught the success of the April 19 uprising and grabbed power by rallying forces opposed to the nation. They charged that the coup forces rendered the society fascist after making the attack on the democratic forces as their primary target. The coup was carried out according to the U.S. strategy, they held. They stressed the need for various circles to have a correct understanding of the coup. |
