Jong, 26, made a good job at the 2011 Asian Weightlifting Championship held some time ago.

She bagged a gold medal in jerking and silver medals in snatch and total in the 58 kg category.

She joined the Pyongyang Sports Team at the age of 16. She emerged a top-notcher in the domestic youth event after two years and national champion after another two years.

The 21st Asian Women's Weightlifting Championship was the first international tournament she attended. She proved successful at the championship and took the first place at the 5th East Asian Games.
