The missile, launched from "Yekaterinburg," a strategic nuclear missile submarine of the Artic Sea Fleet, struck its target in the Kura firing range in Kamchatka at the fixed time.

The Russian Ministry of Defense said that the launch was conducted according to the plan to examine the combat preparedness of the strategic nuclear forces of the navy.
