The meeting said that the work to eradicate poverty and achieve development in China entered a new phase of increasing the capability for development, creating wealth free from poverty and narrowing down the gap in development.

It stressed the need to designate the particularly difficult areas as the main front and solve the problem of food and clothing of poor people so that they may be delivered from poverty at an early date.
