Streets of the city are lit in a peculiar manner centering around the mosaic depicting the great persons of Mt. Paektu. Public buildings, apartment houses and catering networks are decorated with diverse lights.

Diverse lighting modes are introduced according to architectural styles of buildings to produce a maximum effect. They include overall, concentrative, close, dispersion and long distance lighting and upward projection.

A new type of lighting, a combination of ever-changing projection, rhythm and light flux, has been realized in the city on a high level.
