Kim Jong Il published this work on May 5, Juche 80 (1991), providing an immortal landmark for socialist construction and has since given theoretical and practical answers to the questions arising in accomplishing the cause of socialism and the human cause of independence.

His works have been brought out in over 50 languages in more than 190 countries for the last two decades. More than 12,000 seminars, lectures, reading sessions, briefings, etc. have been organized by foreign political parties, organizations and international and regional bodies to study and disseminate them.

The above-mentioned work was published and issued in more than 20 languages in more than 90 countries.

The famous works "The Historical Lesson in Building Socialism and the General Line of Our Party" and "On the Fundamentals of Revolutionary Party Building" were published in at least 10 languages including Chinese, English, Russian, French, and Arabic in dozens of countries in several months after the publication of those works.

The famous works authored by Kim Jong Il one after another in the subsequent period include "Abuses of Socialism Are Intolerable", "Socialism Is a Science" and "Giving Priority to Ideological Work Is Essential for Accomplishing Socialism." At least 540,000 copies of those works were brought out in collections of works and pamphlet in 41 languages in the latter half of the 1990s.

"Socialism Is What Keeps Our People Alive", "On Preserving the Juche Character and National Character of the Revolution and Construction" and other works were published in Russia, Mongolia, Ecuador, New Zealand and many other countries.

Kim Jong Il also authored famous works on the Songun policy comprehensively systematizing the Songun ideas and theories and clearly indicating the general orientation and strategy for the development of the state in the era of independence. These works were published in at least 100 countries.
