Kim Il Sung's Long Journey for National Prosperity
Pyongyang, May 5 (KCNA) -- In his lifetime President Kim Il Sung always worked hard for the prosperity of the nation and happiness of the people.

On May 5, Juche 81 (1992) he left Pyongyang for Kaesong City early in the morning.

When the cars carrying him and accompanying officials reached the vicinity of the city at about seven, he suggested taking breakfast there.

The officials were surprised by his suggestion as they failed to prepare something to eat. But the President had food boxes prepared last night for breakfast to save time and refrain from troubling local people.

After the frugal repast, he arrived in the city and gave field guidance to the work of preserving historic and cultural relics in the morning, looking around the Koryo Museum, Manwoldae (a ruined royal palace), Sonjuk Bridge, monument to Jong Mong Ju's loyalty to the king, and Mausoleum of King Wang Kon.

In the afternoon he inspected economic establishments, including the Kaesong Textile Mill and Pakyon Co-op Farm, and left the city in the evening.

That day he made a journey as long as more than 440 kilometers.
