Iran Accuses US of Its Human Rights Abuses

| Tehran, May 4 (KCNA) -- The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson said in a recent press conference that U.S. officials are not competent to comment on human rights issues. He called the United States the "greatest violator of human rights", saying that U.S. officials have not yet been able to provide an answer to the public opinion about human rights abuses being committed at Abu Ghraib and Guantanamo penitentiaries. "They (U.S. officials) are using the human rights issue as a tool to exert pressure on independent countries," he added. |
