Briefing on Young RC Volunteers' Activities Held

Pyongyang, May 6 (KCNA) -- A briefing on the Red Cross activities of young volunteers took place in Anju City, South Phyongan Province, on Thursday. Present at the briefing were officials of the Central Committee of the DPRK Red Cross Society and its South Phyongan Provincial Branch Office, young volunteers and members of delegations of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) working in Pyongyang. Young volunteers had a question-and-answer session concerning the prevention of traffic accidents and gave an explanation of traffic rules and an art performance. Igor Dmitryuk, head of the delegation of the IFRC, emphasized the need to invigorate activities to prevent traffic accidents, saying that according to the latest statistics, more than one and half million people die in road accidents in the world every year. |
