Wangjaesan Art Troupe Performs in Pyongyang

Pyongyang, May 7 (KCNA) -- The Wangjaesan Art Troupe, one of the DPRK's famous art troupes, has performed at the People's Palace of Culture in Pyongyang, winning a great popularity. Since the premiere on April 23, more than 42,000 people have enjoyed the performance. The performance, which begins with the women's vocal sextet "We Live in the Embrace of the Leader", touches heartstrings of the audience from the start. The program includes a violin ensemble "A Horse Sledge Carrying Pleasure", dance "White Birch in Native Home Garden", a folk dance "Ongheya" and tap dance "At the Spring Site". Ri Yon Ok, a 48-year-old woman living in Taedonggang District, Pyongyang, told KCNA that the performance was so excellent that she was unaware of the passage of time. Choe Myong Chon, a 36-year-old teacher of Kim Il Sung University, said the performance was wonderful enough to show that Wangjaesan is one of the most popular art troupes in the country. |
