The three principles--independence, peaceful reunification and great national unity--laid down by the President clearly indicate the basic stand and ways to settle the issue of Korea's reunification by the concerted efforts of the Koreans in line with their independent will and interests.

The three principles of national reunification are absolutely supported by all the Koreans for their validity and vitality and powerfully encourage them in their cause of independent reunification.

The historic June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration, a programme for implementing it, are the important guidelines for achieving Korea's reunification based on the principles.

A lot difficulties and trials still lie in the way of the Korean people but Korea is sure to be reunified as it is holding in high esteem General Secretary Kim Jong Il who is thoroughly carrying out the last instruction of the President for national reunification.
