China on Importance of Ideological and Cultural Agitation

Beijing, May 7 (KCNA) -- Liu Yunshan, head of the Publicity Department of the C.C., the Communist Party of China, at a recent round-table talk with heads of publicity departments across the country, stressed the importance of the ideological and cultural agitation work.

The major task of this work is to agitate, bring the masses into action and serve them, and it is of special and weighty significance in carrying out the party's mass line, he said.

He underlined the need for the front of ideological and cultural agitation to hold fast to the assignment given by the party and state and do utmost to serve the masses and thus render strong metal power to hitting the targets of the 12th Five-Year Plan.
