Attending there were state leaders and heads of government from 10 member countries of the organization.

The meeting discussed the issues of ensuring energy and food security, taking measures for preventing natural disaster, recovering economy, strengthening the position and role of ASEAN and other matters in international affairs.

The Summit concluded with the adoption of the three joint statements on the establishment of the ASEAN Institute for Peace and Reconciliation and cooperation against trafficking in persons and so on and the release of the Chair's Statement.
