At the talks the two sides reached a preliminary agreement on all the issues raised including the election and the issue of establishing a provisional government.

Then they signed a final agreement on reconciliation at the talks held on May 4.

The signing of the agreement between the two factions this time helped the Palestinians created a new environment for advancing to achieve their common aim by their concerted efforts.
