More than 500 school youth and children selected from every province of the country are to take part in the contest divided into sections of secondary and primary schools. They will compete in 30 odd events including basketball, volleyball, table tennis and Taekwon-Do.

Its opening ceremony took place at the Basketball Gymnasium in Chongchun Street here on Tuesday.

Present there were officials concerned and school youth and children.

Ham Kwang Chol, secretary of the C.C., the Kim Il Sung Socialist Youth League, made an opening address.
