Tohoku Electric Plunges into Red on Disaster

| Pyongyang, May 18 (KCNA) -- Tohoku Electric Power Co. said Thursday it plunged into a group net loss of 33.71 billion yen in fiscal 2010 that ended in late March. Idemitsu Kosan Co.'s extraordinary losses stood at 5.3 billion yen due to damage to its oil tank in Shiogama in Miyagi Prefecture, while Cosmo Oil Co. recorded extraordinary losses of 5.7 billion yen due to damage to its refinery in Ichihara, Chiba Prefecture. Dentsu, the nation's largest ad agency, said its net profit fell 30.5 percent to 21.64 billion yen. |
