Korean residents in Japan have been helping each other to heal the damage caused by the mega quake and tsunami in March which hit Tohoku region of Japan. This picture of the Korean community clearly shows how strong the indomitable will and compatriotism of Chongryon and Korean residents united as one are.

Whenever Koreans in Japan underwent unexpected natural disasters and accidents such as the 1995 great Awaji, Hanshin earthquake and the 2004 earthquake in Juetsu of Niigata Prefecture, Chongryon had conducted brisk relief activities, greatly encouraged by love from the homeland. Such actions deeply moved not only Korean victims but also Japanese people.

Besides, Chongryon has conducted fund-raising campaign among all Korean residents in Japan at the end of every year to assist materially and morally the compatriots in difficult situation including the old singles, long-term patients, orphans, cripples and those disaster sufferers.
