The Ryanggang Provincial Prospecting Bureau has found out a large deposit of valuable minerals in Namsa area.

The South Hamgyong Provincial Prospecting Bureau has spotted a new mineral vein in Komdok area and confirmed ore bodies in the eastern and western parts of the area.

The South Phyongan Provincial Prospecting Bureau has made a survey of new coalfields.
