The article said that Kim Il Sung was the great leader of the Korean people who performed immortal exploits in the history of Korea's reunification movement by working hard till the last moments of his life to reunify the country divided by the U.S. imperialists after its liberation.

Kim Il Sung met with a representative of the south side who came to Pyongyang to participate in the north-south high-level political talks in May 1972 and clarified the three principles of national reunification, the article noted, adding:

The three principles of national reunification were announced at home and abroad as a reunification programme common to the nation through a north-south joint statement on July 4 that year.

General Secretary Kim Jong Il, a creditable successor to the cause of Kim Il Sung, made sure that the June 15 North-South Joint Declaration and the October 4 declaration based on those three principles were adopted and published and wisely guided the cause of Korea's reunification.

There is no force on earth that can hold in check the struggle of the Korean people to achieve the reunification of the country on the three principles and this sacred cause is sure to triumph.
