Nationwide Help to Countryside

Pyongyang, May 21 (KCNA) -- Officials, workers and office employees and even members of neighborhood units across the country are now all out to help farmers after the kick-off of rice transplantation. More than two times as many people as those in the last year are now giving helping hands to the farmers. Employees of the ministries and national institutions are taking the lead in the campaign. Employees of the Ministry of Construction and Building Materials Industry are reporting signal successes in rice transplantation and maize planting. The Ministry of Foodstuff and Daily Necessities Industry, the Ministry of Machine-Building Industry, the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications, the Ministry of Land and Marine Transport, the Ministry of Foreign Trade and the Ministry of Land and Environmental Conservation are helping farms settle their issues in a responsible manner while lots of public officials are giving sincere helping hands to farmers in their immediate farm work. Officials and other working people in various provinces are also sincere in helping farmers. At least 40 000 more people than those involved in the same period last year are joining farmers in transplanting rice seedlings everyday in South Hwanghae Province. A sharply increasing number of people are giving effective helping hands to farmers in North and South Phyongan, North Hwanghae Province, North and South Hamgyong and Ryanggang provinces. |
