U.S. and Japanese Businesses in Slowdown

| Pyongyang, May 21 (KCNA) -- For April, U.S. privately-owned housing starts were at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 523 000. This was 10.6 percent below the revised estimate for March this year, the U.S. Commerce Department said as quoting survey data on May 17. This is because privately-owned housing units are in the slowdown. Meanwhile, Tokyo Electric Power Co. of Japan plans to book a group net loss of more than 800 billion yen for fiscal 2010 ended in March, sources close to the matter said Monday. |
