Water Saving Campaign in Beijing

Beijing, May 19 (KCNA) -- Information service for saving water was conducted in Beijing on the theme of "improvement of urban water ecology and dissemination of the technology for the use of renewable water" on May 15.

That day the municipal government called on all fields and units of the society to more effectively and rationally use the water resources in order to contribute to building a water saving society.

In recent years the water resources per head of the population dwindled to 100 cubic meters from 300 cubic meters. So Beijing has become one of the big cities with the most acute shortage of water in the country.
