The paper in the article said that more than a decade has passed since the publication of the said joint declaration but the idea of "By the Korean nation itself", the basic spirit of the declaration, is still shining as an invariable banner for Korea's reunification.

Korea was divided not by any contradictions among Koreans but by foreign forces, the paper said, adding:

Korea's reunification is an issue that should be solved by the concerted efforts of the Koreans, who are responsible for reunification, in line with their will and requirements, and there is, therefore, neither reason nor justification for foreign forces to interfere in it.

Peace and security on the Korean Peninsula precisely mean peace and security of the world and if a war breaks out on the peninsula it will inevitably develop into a thermonuclear war which mankind has never experienced.

The implementation of the June 15 North-South Joint Declaration is the only way for achieving the reunification of the peninsula.
