Russian President Calls for Development of Nuclear Force to Counter European Missile Shield

Moscow, May 20 (KCNA) -- Russian President Dmitri Medvedev warned the West over the issue of the European missile shield at a press interview on May 18.

There are issues to be agreed upon between Russia and NATO, he noted, adding that if no agreement is reached between the two, Russia will be left with no option but to take countermeasures.

Clarifying that this means Russia will go ahead with its plan to develop the nuclear offensive potential and if this happens, it will spark another Cold War.
