He said that there was an effective system to select and train children skilled in sports in the country 20 years ago and the system was based on about 300 sports schools.

There are less than 10 similar schools nationwide at present, he noted, stressing the need to reestablish the system for training reserve sportspersons by way of setting up such schools again in all parts of the country, etc.
